New Modern is a collection of tables and desks that’s 100% made in Europe, well thought out and produced to last. Like every project from the French item brand TIPTOE, New Modern is part of a sustainable, eco-design approach, taking care to control its impact throughout the product's life cycle. New Modern tables consist of just a few elements, all of them useful, very robust, easily separable and repairable if necessary. These tables consist of two powder-coated steel trestle legs into which are inserted two cylindrical stainless steel support beams. The top is simply screwed onto the legs. The tables are delivered flat to limit the environmental impact during storage and shipping (assembly is super-easy). The packaging is made of a minimum 80% recycled paper. The legs are made of steel, a material that’s both very strong and infinitely recyclable (it’s the most recycled material in the world). The top is available in different materials: eco-certified wood, recycled or laminate plastic. The oak plywood tops are made from wood from sustainably managed European forests (PEFC or FSC label). The top has a core made of solid, slatted fir veneered with natural oak and protected by a water-based varnish. The recycled plastic tops are made from waste: hundreds of yoghurt pots are needed to make a top. The plastic waste collected is reduced to chips and then pressed (without adding binder) to form the top. The white top is dotted with bursts of colour, echoing fragile ocean coral. The speckled pattern also evokes terrazzo, the star material of decoration. Each recycled plastic top is unique, the colour and patterns may vary, which is what makes it so charming. The different shapes and sizes of tops adapt to a wide range of contexts: dining table in a living room or kitchen, XXL table that can accommodate up to 12 people, individual desk in a private environment or even a large open space desk for several people. TIPTOE has chosen 100% European production alongside partners with excellent know-how. NEW MODERN wooden tops are made in Poland, the steel legs in Bulgaria while all the precision mechanical parts and assembly items come from family workshops in France near Chamonix. The final assembly is carried out in France in an ESAT, a medico-social establishment that works for the social and professional integration of people with disabilities.
