Description
This incredible, modern take on a chandelier by Tom Dixon boasts generous dimensions! Melt Chandelier is a bunch, or a bouquet of four globes which burst out from a central core to create a luminous and dynamic sculpture with infinite reflections. With their soft and curved, organic shape, the globes resemble droplets or water or fusing metal! Melt Chandelier creates a stunning and somewhat hypnotising optical illusion. The four distorted spheres are made from an innovative material: a clever blend of polycarbonate with a few microns of copper, gold or chrome. This very special metallic finish allows Melt to change and look totally different! When the light is switched off, the metallic globes are opaque and reflective. Once the light is switched on, they turn translucent, like glass. The material is dressed in beautiful deep reflections, playing with light, colour, transparency and depth. Each glove has an LED module developed by Tom Dixon to be entirely replaceable and repairable.
