Combining wood curved around superb caning in natural straw, the Suzenne low armchair has been designed by Chiara Andreatti. The designer has taken the archetypal silhouette of the classic armchair and shaken it up, modifying it to her own proportions. This new lower and wider version has a strong and contemporary character. This is an armchair that breathes great modernity, combined with the timeless elegance of the first items of bentwood furniture that appeared in the late 19th Century. The steam-bent beechwood structure sketches sinuous lines that elegantly outline the natural straw caning. The backrest and seat are padded and covered with a high-end Kvadrat fabric. The soft and cosy cushions are reminiscent of foliage, creating the impression of a corolla of petals blooming from its bud. The padding, generous dimensions and curved backrest make this low armchair extremely comfortable. Rich materials, high standards of quality, exceptional finishes and an original form, all wonderfully characteristic of the Wiener GTV Design spirit. Drawing on the tradition and way of thinking of Michael Thonet, Wiener GTV Design develops products rooted in an innovative, meticulous design process. A team of designers, creators and artisans produces unique products of exceptional craftsmanship. Product sustainability is at the centre of the development process.
